‘Stellar Blade’ Brings Style And Sauciness To Switch 2 “This Year”
Shift Up’s acclaimed action game Stellar Blade is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 “this year,” the Korean developer announced during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation. Originally released on PlayStation 5 in 2024 as a timed exclusive published by Sony, Stellar Blade has since expanded to PC and will now reach the hybrid console.
The game features fast-paced combat mechanics and cinematic storytelling set in a sci-fi world where players take on the role of EVE, an elite warrior fighting to reclaim Earth from mysterious invaders. The title received critical acclaim, earning a Metascore of 81 and becoming known for its intense action sequences and stylized character design.
Shift Up has expressed longstanding intentions to bring Stellar Blade to multiple platforms following its initial PlayStation window. The developer praised Sony as a publishing partner while confirming the Switch 2 port, suggesting the expansion reflects business strategy rather than any breakdown in the relationship. After leveraging Sony’s marketing support to establish the franchise in Western markets, Shift Up appears ready to diversify its platform presence and grow the brand’s reach beyond PlayStation and PC.
