Summer Game Fest 2026 concluded with a substantial lineup of game announcements and release dates spanning the remainder of 2026 and into 2027. The event, which included the main Summer Game Fest livestream alongside PlayStation State of Play, Xbox Games Showcase, and PC Gaming Show, delivered major reveals for both AAA and independent titles.
Several marquee games made their debut during the showcase weekend. PlayStation’s State of Play featured Marvel’s Wolverine and God of War Laufey, while Summer Game Fest itself revealed Resident Evil Veronica and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Xbox’s showcase introduced Persona 6 alongside a deep-dive presentation of Gears of War: E-Day. The event calendar shows relatively quiet release activity expected for November, with Grand Theft Auto 6 standing out as a major exception to the typically slower autumn release window.
However, several previously announced titles were notably absent from the summer showcases. Grand Theft Auto 6, Mass Effect 5, and other upcoming games received no official presentation or updates during the event series. Additionally, Sony’s troubled live-service initiative continues to face challenges. Fairgame$, an extraction shooter developed by Haven Games and marketed as the final remaining project from Sony’s live-service push, has encountered significant setbacks. Studio head Jade Raymond and game director Daniel Drapeau have both departed the project, adding to recent troubling developments surrounding its development.
