Frontier Developments reports record profits in FY26 turnaround

Frontier Developments has posted its strongest financial performance in years, with FY26 marking a significant turnaround for the UK-based studio. The company reported revenue of £104.8 million, up 16% year-over-year and its second-highest to date. More impressively, operating profit jumped 44% to £19 million, surpassing the studio’s previous all-time record of £15.9 million set in FY19.

The growth is primarily attributed to Frontier’s strategic pivot toward creative management simulation (CMS) games, a genre that now accounts for 90% of the studio’s total revenue. The Jurassic World Evolution franchise has been the standout performer, with the recently released Jurassic World Evolution 3 demonstrating strong player engagement and sales. The studio continues to generate additional revenue from its established Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo franchises, which maintain active player bases and receive ongoing updates.

This financial turnaround highlights the success of Frontier’s focused approach to game development, concentrating resources on a genre where the studio has established expertise and proven market appeal.
