Hideo Kojima Teases Filming For His New Xbox First-Party Game, OD
Hideo Kojima has announced that filming has resumed for his upcoming Xbox exclusive game OD. The project, formally unveiled in 2022 with subsequent teasers in 2023 and 2025, marks a significant collaboration between the legendary game designer and filmmaker Jordan Peele, known for horror films like Get Out and Us.
The game features an impressive ensemble cast including actress Sophia Lillis (It, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), Hunter Schafer (Euphoria, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), and veteran actor Udo Kier (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Barb Wire, Blade). A teaser released in 2025, titled “Knock,” provided a glimpse of Lillis’ character recoiling in terror after performing a ritual, suggesting a horror or supernatural narrative direction.
The announcement of resumed filming indicates that production on OD is progressing toward completion, though no official release date has been provided. As an Xbox exclusive, the game represents a notable first-party title for the platform, combining Kojima’s distinctive game design sensibilities with Peele’s expertise in suspenseful storytelling.
