How to get Pitch Black Pokémon TCG Cards from The Pokémon Center without timing out
The Pokémon Company is releasing a new trading card set called “Mega Evolution: Pitch Black,” with preorders available through The Pokémon Center, the official online storefront. The set releases on July 17, 2026, in multiple formats: Elite Trainer Boxes (11 packs), Booster Bundles (6 packs), single Booster Packs (10 cards), and Booster Display Boxes (36 packs).
The Pokémon Center offers compelling advantages over third-party retailers, selling products at manufacturer’s suggested retail value and featuring exclusive items unavailable elsewhere. These incentives make the official store an attractive option for collectors seeking fair pricing and unique products.
However, purchasing through The Pokémon Center presents a significant challenge. The website has a documented history of experiencing substantial technical difficulties during major product launches, with customers frequently encountering timeout errors and site crashes when attempting to complete purchases. High demand for new releases regularly overwhelms the website’s infrastructure, creating a frustrating experience that can prevent successful transactions.
This creates a dilemma for collectors: the official channel offers the best pricing and exclusive products, but carries considerable risk of encountering technical problems that could prevent a purchase.
