Are these real posts from the r/skyrimmods subreddit, or did I make them up? Take our newest and rudest quiz!
PC Gamer has launched a new interactive quiz that challenges readers to distinguish between genuine posts from the r/skyrimmods subreddit and fabricated ones. The quiz capitalizes on the vibrant and often unconventional culture surrounding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s modding community.
The r/skyrimmods subreddit serves as a central hub for one of gaming’s most active modding communities. While the majority of posts involve straightforward discussion of existing mods, mod recommendations, and troubleshooting technical issues, the community is also known for occasional absurd or humorous requests. Posts range from standard modding inquiries to bizarre content requests—exemplified by unusual mod proposals such as “Boobs on everything mod”—showcasing the diverse and sometimes irreverent creativity of the Skyrim modding scene.
This quiz is part of PC Gamer’s broader entertainment strategy, joining a collection of other gaming trivia challenges covering various topics including game mechanics, in-game economies, and unusual patch notes. The quiz leverages the reality that authentic modding community posts can sometimes be surprisingly unusual, making it difficult to distinguish genuine requests from invented ones.
The piece highlights both the serious technical side of the modding community and its more playful, humorous elements, offering readers an entertaining way to test their familiarity with Skyrim’s dedicated modding culture.
