Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School PREVIEW: Still The Best Escape Room Series
Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is the upcoming sequel to the 2022 escape room puzzle game Escape Academy. According to a preview from Insider Gaming, the sequel promises to deliver more of the formula that made the original successful, with additional content and features.
The preview highlights what makes the escape room game genre compelling: requiring players to remain attentive to environmental details, track important clues like numbers and names, and work through logical puzzles to progress. Escape Academy 2 maintains this design philosophy, offering moments of frustration interspersed with the satisfaction of finally solving complex puzzles—a reward comparable to overcoming difficult challenges in demanding games like Soulslike titles.
While specific details about new features or the school-themed setting remain limited in the preview, the game appears to iterate on the original’s formula rather than fundamentally reinventing it. The subtitle “Back 2 School” suggests a thematic direction for the puzzles and setting, though further details were not available in the preview excerpt.
