Xbox Announces New System Update To Address Forza Horizon 6 Save Issues
Playground Games has acknowledged a significant bug affecting Forza Horizon 6 where some players are experiencing save file loss or corruption. The developer is actively investigating the issue and has begun rolling out fixes across platforms.
For PC players, fixes are being distributed through the Microsoft Gaming Services client. Playground Games is urging affected players to verify they are running the latest version of Microsoft Gaming Services to receive these updates.
On Xbox Series X|S, a dedicated system update is planned to begin rolling out starting June 12, designed to address the save file issues on console. Players can proactively receive the update by following steps outlined on the Xbox Support website.
The developer has advised players who experience save loss to immediately open a ticket on the Forza Support website, which will help the team investigate individual cases and improve the chances of save recovery. Importantly, players are warned not to start a new play session or create a new save after losing their progress, as this could complicate recovery efforts.
While the exact cause of the bug remains unconfirmed, the coordinated fix across platforms suggests a systemic issue potentially related to how game saves are handled. This appears to be one of the more serious issues to affect Forza Horizon 6 since its release, which has otherwise sold millions of copies across PC and Xbox platforms.
