EA Is Shutting Down Online Services for This Forgotten PS5, PS4 Racing Game

EA has announced that online services for GRID Legends will be shut down on September 11, 2026. The racing game, developed by Codemasters and released in February 2022, will lose all online connectivity features across PlayStation and Xbox platforms, though the shutdown does not appear to affect the Switch 2 version.

The closure will eliminate cross-platform play, online multiplayer modes, Quick Race races, Dynamic Events, leaderboards, and other online features. However, players will retain access to the game’s single-player content, including the story mode called Driven to Glory, which featured live-action cutscenes.

GRID Legends is a sim-cade racing title that blended simulation and arcade gameplay. The game’s story mode was a standout feature, combining professional production values with the core racing gameplay. The announcement of the server shutdown was made on EA’s Online Services Shutdown page, which documents all games that have had their online services retired.
