Latest Steam Hardware Survey Shows AMD Radeon at New 19% High, 9060 XT and 9070 XT Chart for First Time

Valve’s May 2026 Steam Hardware Survey reveals a significant milestone for AMD, with Radeon graphics cards reaching a new high of 19.1 percent market share among surveyed users. This represents notable growth from 16.4 percent at the beginning of 2025, marking a steady climb in AMD’s presence on the Steam platform over the past 18 months.

Despite AMD’s gains, Nvidia maintains a commanding lead with 72 percent of the total market share, while Intel holds the remaining eight percent. The survey highlights the competitive dynamics of the PC gaming GPU market, where Nvidia’s dominance persists across most popular configurations.

Among the most significant findings is the first appearance of AMD’s latest generation cards in the survey rankings. The RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT have charted for the first time, claiming 1.33 percent and 0.72 percent of respondents respectively. This marks a notable moment for AMD’s newest architecture, indicating early adoption among Steam users.

Nvidia continues to hold the majority of the top-performing positions in the survey, with the RTX 3060, 4060 Laptop, 4060, 3050, and 5070 all representing more than three percent of surveyed systems. The prevalence of these cards underscores Nvidia’s established market presence and the wide installed base of users still running previous-generation hardware.
