Game of the Month: 007 First Light (May 2026)
IO Interactive’s action-stealth James Bond game 007 First Light has won Push Square’s Game of the Month award for May 2026, securing a commanding victory in the publication’s reader poll with 644 votes (63% of the total). The decisive margin reflects strong community enthusiasm for the title among PS5 players.
While May 2026 was not characterized as an especially busy month for new game releases, observers note that 007 First Light likely would have remained highly competitive even against a more crowded release calendar. The strength of the win suggests significant player reception for IO Interactive’s latest entry in the James Bond franchise.
The top five PS5 games voted on by Push Square readers for May 2026 were:
- 007 First Light – 644 votes (63%)
- LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – 174 votes (17%)
- Mina the Hollower – 88 votes (9%)
- Mixtape – 64 votes (6%)
- Bubsy 4D – 19 votes
The significant gap between first and second place underscores strong reader preference for the spy-action title. The award recognizes the game’s quality and appeal during a lighter month for major releases, with IO Interactive’s stealth-action approach to the Bond license evidently resonating strongly with players.
