Onimusha: Way Of The Sword Switch 2 Resolution And Frame Rate Revealed
Capcom has revealed the technical specifications for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on Nintendo Switch 2, showcasing the publisher’s continued commitment to supporting the new console platform.
The Switch 2 version will operate at 1920 x 1080p resolution in TV mode and 1600 x 900p in handheld mode, with both modes utilizing upscaling technology. Frame rate performance is set at 30fps across both configurations, though Capcom confirmed that players can adjust settings to enable a variable frame rate between 30 and 40fps, offering flexibility for those prioritizing performance over stability.
In comparison, other platform versions of the game will support significantly higher specifications, delivering up to 60fps frame rates and 4K resolution (3840 x 2160p), reflecting the hardware differences between Switch 2 and more powerful gaming systems.
The announcement demonstrates Capcom’s strategy to establish a strong third-party presence on Nintendo’s new hardware during its early library phase. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is scheduled to launch on Switch 2 in September. The performance specifications illustrate how developers are balancing visual fidelity with the technical limitations of portable hardware, while providing customization options that allow players to choose between resolution stability and frame rate flexibility based on their preferences.
