Alongside its new expansion, Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader got a massive patch buffing its weakest classes and companion
Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader received a substantial balance patch alongside the release of its new expansion, The Infinite Museion. The update focuses primarily on strengthening the game’s historically underperforming classes and archetypes, specifically targeting Operatives and Assassins, which have been widely regarded by the community as the weakest options available to players.
Developer Owlcat Games deployed the patch to address a significant gap in character viability. The Operatives and Assassin archetypes had been substantially outclassed by the game’s other available options, particularly in ranged combat roles. While these classes remained technically playable before the update, the balance disparity was pronounced enough to motivate this comprehensive rebalancing effort.
The patch arrives as Owlcat continues expanding Rogue Trader, the studio’s 2023 CRPG based on Warhammer 40K’s universe. The company remains actively engaged in supporting and developing its games while simultaneously working on multiple other projects, including The Expanse: Osiris Reborn and Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy. The update demonstrates the studio’s commitment to addressing player feedback and maintaining game balance as it supports the title through ongoing expansions and patches.
