Dead by Daylight unveils modding support, a visual overhaul, and a Scooby-Doo collaboration during 10th anniversary celebrations

Dead by Daylight, the popular asymmetrical horror game by Behaviour Interactive, marked its 10th anniversary with a major announcement stream revealing significant updates planned for the coming years.

The headline additions include official modding support arriving in 2027, allowing players to create custom maps and game modes. Alongside this, Behaviour is implementing a sweeping visual overhaul also coming in 2027, featuring dynamic weather and completely recreated character models and environments to refresh the aging game’s graphics.

In terms of new content, Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise has officially been added to the game after a decade of fan requests. The developer is also introducing a new survivor character named Shane Wiigwaas, marking the game’s first Native American survivor. Additional collaborations with Scooby-Doo and Terrifier are also in the works.

To celebrate the milestone, Behaviour Interactive is giving away 10 million free Bloodpoints to every player. Bloodpoints are the game’s primary in-game currency used to progress characters through the Bloodweb system, which has become increasingly valuable as the game has accumulated numerous survivors and killers over its decade-long lifespan.

The announcements were made during an extensive anniversary event featuring a 90-minute livestream with panels and meet-and-greets. The roadmap demonstrates Behaviour’s commitment to supporting Dead by Daylight for another decade, positioning the live-service title as one of the most successful games in the asymmetrical horror genre.
