Google Earth’s flight simulator is now available in your browser

Google has made Google Earth’s flight simulator more accessible by bringing the feature to web browsers. The flight simulator has been available as a relatively hidden feature in Google Earth’s desktop application since 2007, but accessing it previously required downloading and installing the desktop software. Now, users can launch the flight simulator directly through their web browser without any installation. To access the feature, users visit the Google Earth website, click the “Explore Earth” button in the top right corner, and select “Flight Simulator” from the menu options. This move significantly reduces the barrier to entry for users interested in experiencing the virtual flight simulator. By removing the requirement to download and install desktop software, Google makes the feature available to anyone with a web browser and internet connection. The expansion highlights Google’s effort to increase accessibility to its Earth platform’s tools and features, potentially introducing the flight simulator to a much larger audience than previously possible with the desktop-only version.
