Nightdive’s remaster of cult FPS SiN gets a gameplay trailer and Steam demo, three years after the project was indefinitely put on hold

Nightdive Studios has revived its long-delayed remaster of SiN, the cult-classic 1998 first-person shooter, nearly three years after shelving the project in 2023. Originally announced in 2020, SiN: Reloaded was put on indefinite hold as Nightdive prioritized other titles. Sustained fan requests have now prompted the studio to return to active development.

The studio re-announced the remaster in March 2026 and has since released a gameplay trailer and playable Steam demo available for immediate download. The full game is scheduled for release later in 2026, with additional platforms to be revealed closer to launch. The demo marks the project’s first public playable content since its revival.

Nightdive Studios has built its reputation on meticulously modernizing classic and niche games, and this remaster continues their game preservation work. The decision to resurrect SiN reflects both the studio’s ongoing commitment and sustained fan interest in experiencing this influential FPS with updated graphics and refined gameplay mechanics.
