TheShy Returns to Competitive LoL and Invictus Gaming
Legendary League of Legends toplaner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok has returned to Invictus Gaming as the organization prepares for LPL Split 3, ending a competitive break that began in December. TheShy, a former World Champion, assumes the starting top lane position, replacing Chen “Breathe” Chen, who is now a free agent.
The return comes as IG seeks to reverse a disappointing 2026 season. The team finished 11-12 in the LPL Playoffs last split and suffered a 3-0 sweep by ThunderTalk Gaming in the Play-In tournament. Additional roster shuffles include the departures of substitute toplaner Lim “Soboro” Seong-min and mid laner Zou “Nia” Guang-Lu, both of whom shared time in their respective roles previously.
IG management hopes TheShy’s return will stabilize the roster and improve the team’s competitive performance. The veteran toplaner’s addition represents a significant move in the organization’s effort to recover from ongoing struggles throughout the 2026 season.
