Critical Role reveals new Age of Umbra Sallowlands characters ahead of upcoming premiere
Critical Role has unveiled the cast of five adventurers at the center of its upcoming Age of Umbra: Sallowlands mini-series, offering fans their first glimpse at the characters who will explore the dark corners of the Halcyon Domain. The characters—Dillwyn, Badger, Sister, Caguama, Alphonse, and Mercy—are depicted as “sun-warped” survivors facing danger in this new installment.
Revealed on X.com Tuesday, the announcement included full character artwork alongside casting details. The six-episode series will premiere on July 9, arriving shortly after the latest scheduled installment of Critical Role’s Campaign 4, allowing viewers to follow both storylines within the same window. The cast features Critical Role co-founder Laura Bailey, Jennifer English, and others from the ensemble.
Age of Umbra: Sallowlands continues the studio’s use of the Daggerheart tabletop RPG system, following the success of last year’s Age of Umbra debut mini-series. The new installment represents Critical Role’s ongoing expansion of storytelling within its shared fictional universe, offering six episodes of adventure in the darker areas of the Halcyon Domain.
