Death Stranding Movie Targeting 2027 Shoot Date, Characters From the Games Will Appear
Director Michael Sarnoski, known for Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One, is bringing Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding to the big screen. Sarnoski recently completed a second draft of the film’s script and hopes to begin production in 2027, with filming planned for Iceland and Northern Ireland.
The movie will be an original story set within the Death Stranding universe rather than a direct adaptation of the game’s narrative. Characters from the game franchise will appear in the film, connecting the video game world to the cinematic version.
With the script advancing through development, the project appears to be progressing toward its production phase. Following the completion of Death Stranding, Sarnoski plans to pursue a low-budget personal film project next.
