10 best Marvel Super Heroes cards in Magic: The Gathering, ranked
Magic: The Gathering is releasing its Marvel Super Heroes set later this month, featuring 655 new cards—more than double the number from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set and approaching the total cards released throughout 2011. The massive set brings together dozens of iconic Marvel heroes and villains alongside new saga cards and powerful artifact cards.
With complete spoilers now public, several cards are already emerging as potential format-defining staples across Magic’s various play formats. The Marvel Super Heroes set appears more substantive and impactful than previous Universes Beyond crossover releases, suggesting this collaboration will significantly influence both competitive and casual Magic play. The sheer volume of new cards—655 total—presents both opportunities and challenges for players seeking the most valuable chase cards from the release.
