Less than a month before launch, survival RPG Outward 2 delayed into 2027
Survival RPG Outward 2 has been delayed from its originally planned July 2026 release to sometime in 2027, developer Nine Dots Studio announced today. The news comes less than a month before the game’s intended launch window, with studio CEO and creative director Guillaume Boucher-Vidal apologizing for the delay in a statement on Steam: “I apologize that we couldn’t give you the game you guys deserve on time.”
The game, which entered open beta on June 7, 2026, was tracking toward an early access release this summer. However, Nine Dots Studio determined additional development time was necessary, pushing the launch date back by several months with no specific 2027 release date yet announced on the game’s Steam page.
This represents a significant setback for the survival RPG, which had been building momentum through its beta period.
