Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are officially coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in July 2026, Treyarch announced via social media. The ports are being developed by Iron Galaxy, a studio known for legacy game support and porting work.

Both games will include their full original feature sets: campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes. However, these are straight ports of the original titles without significant visual upgrades or remaster enhancements.

This marks the first time the games have been available on PlayStation hardware since the PlayStation 3 era. While the titles have remained accessible on Xbox through console generations, PlayStation owners have lacked access for years. Black Ops was originally released in 2010, followed by Black Ops 2 in 2012.

No specific launch date within July has been announced, and the reveal came through a low-key social media post rather than a major marketing campaign, suggesting these will be straightforward rereleases. The announcement confirms rumors from May when new rating classifications for both games appeared on South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee.
