Fortnite Will Let You Make The Simpsons Games, And You Can Bet Someone Will Make Hit & Run

Epic Games and Disney have announced a partnership to bring The Simpsons to Fortnite’s UEFN (Unreal Engine for Fortnite) program, enabling players to create fully authentic games based on the iconic animated series. The offering includes officially licensed Simpsons characters and settings, building on the success of a previous Star Wars collaboration through the same user-creation platform.

The tools will launch later in 2026, though specific content limitations remain unannounced. The Star Wars initiative established a precedent for restrictions—Disney implemented several guardrails, including prohibitions against using assets for political purposes or other restricted contexts.

Given the announcement, community members are already anticipating what projects will emerge. A notable expectation is that creators will attempt to recreate The Simpsons: Hit & Run, the 2003 video game that has become a subject of fan nostalgia and preservation efforts.

This partnership represents another expansion of Epic’s strategy to position UEFN as a platform for user-generated content, allowing communities to develop their own games within the Fortnite ecosystem. With officially licensed assets, Simpsons games created through UEFN will offer authenticity that typical fan projects lack.
