Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will receive a free update on July 28, 2026, adding a new costume inspired by the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film. The “Fresh Start” suit, which Peter Parker wears in the movie, will be available to all players at no cost, arriving three days before the film’s July 31 release.

The suit represents a departure from previous MCU Spider-Man designs. Unlike the hybrid look from Spider-Man: No Way Home—which combined elements from the suits worn by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland—the Fresh Start suit features a more classic Spider-Man aesthetic. The design is a straightforward blue-and-red outfit with mechanical web-shooters on the wrists.

Notably, the suit underwent revisions during Brand New Day’s development after Tom Holland sought fan feedback online to shape the film’s direction. These design changes will be reflected in both the movie and the video game update.

This marks the first content addition to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in years. Insomniac Games previously confirmed they would not be developing story DLC for the sequel, though they have continued to engage players with cosmetic additions and gameplay improvements. The free suit represents the developer’s commitment to maintaining player engagement with new cosmetic content.
