Digimon Story Time Stranger Adds 60fps Option, Photo Mode, and More in Promised PS5 Patch
Bandai Namco has announced a substantial patch for the PS5 version of Digimon Story Time Stranger, finally addressing one of the game’s most significant technical criticisms over eight months after its original launch. The update, scheduled for July 9, introduces a long-awaited 60fps performance mode, a dramatic improvement over the game’s disappointing 30fps frame rate cap at release.
The patch extends beyond raw performance improvements. It also introduces Terriermon Assistant as a new playable party member, complete with a distinctive appearance featuring a lab coat and tie. Additionally, a field-based photo mode has been added, expanding the ways players can document and engage with the game’s digital monster-filled world.
Digimon Story Time Stranger is positioned as a creature-taming RPG for PS5 players seeking monster-collecting gameplay. While the game has received mixed feedback regarding gameplay balance mechanics, its team-building systems have proven addictive for the core audience. The performance upgrade and new content additions suggest Bandai Namco’s continued commitment to supporting the title post-launch, addressing one of the primary criticisms that plagued the game since its release.
