Midnight Murder Club Gets Final Update, But There Is Some Good News
Midnight Murder Club, the multiplayer horror shooter developed by Velan Studios and published by Sony, will no longer receive planned updates. Velan Studios released Update 2.0.008 as the final scheduled update for the game, which addressed controller-rumble issues on Steam.
Despite ending active development, Midnight Murder Club is not shutting down. The developer has committed to game preservation, confirming that servers will remain active indefinitely. Players can continue to enjoy public and private matches, and the game’s Discord community remains available for connecting with other players.
The news comes as the game has largely fallen into obscurity since its PS5 and PC launch last year, despite receiving positive critical reception. Velan Studios’ decision reflects the studio’s philosophy on supporting its games beyond their commercial peak. The company has maintained this approach previously, continuing to support Knockout City after ending its planned content updates.
Velan Studios emphasized their commitment to game preservation, distinguishing their approach from other studios that shut down online services entirely when ending support. This ensures players can still access and play Midnight Murder Club, even though no new features or content will be added unless critical issues require intervention.
