Persona 4 Revival Gameplay Showcase Covers Combat Changes, New Content, and More
Atlus has revealed new gameplay footage for Persona 4 Revival, showcasing significant improvements and changes compared to the original Persona 4 Golden. The remake features complete voice acting throughout the entire game, including Social Link scenes, with a newly recorded English dub cast and entirely new voice talent.
The soundtrack has been completely remade with new instrumentation and vocals, following a similar approach to Persona 3 Reload’s audio overhaul. Beyond presentation changes, the gameplay has received meaningful updates to the combat system. Players can now guard against enemy attacks in dungeons, which stuns enemies and sets them up for ambush attacks—a new defensive mechanic not present in the original.
Additionally, the Baton Pass mechanic from other entries in the Persona series has been integrated into Persona 4 Revival, expanding the strategic depth of turn-based combat. These changes suggest Atlus is positioning Persona 4 Revival as both a nostalgic experience for long-time fans of the original and a completely refreshed experience that modernizes the classic game for contemporary audiences.
