11 Bit Studios Lays Off 20 Employees in Company Reorganisation
11 Bit Studios, the Polish developer known for The Alters and Frostpunk, has conducted layoffs affecting 20 employees as part of a company-wide reorganization. The reductions represent approximately 8% of the studio’s total workforce, which stood at 265 employees as of December 2025.
According to sources close to the company’s strategic planning, the layoffs are not expected to impact any of 11 Bit Studios’ active game development projects. Instead, the restructuring appears to be a response to considerations related to the studio’s release pipeline and project schedule planning.
Currently, Frostpunk: 1886 is the only title 11 Bit Studios has officially announced for release in 2027. The studio is understood to have additional games in development, though specific release windows for these projects have not been publicly disclosed.
The reorganization reflects ongoing adjustments within the game development industry, where studios regularly reassess their organizational structures and resource allocation in response to shifting market conditions and publishing schedules. For 11 Bit Studios, this restructuring appears focused on aligning the company’s workforce with its near-term project output and long-term strategic goals.
