Battlefield 6’s next update is bringing back a classic mechanic… from Call of Duty: Ghosts
Battlefield 6 is preparing to launch the third and final phase of Season 3, titled “High-Value Target,” arriving June 30th alongside a significant patch update. The new content phase will introduce the Wet Work event, which marks a notable shift in gameplay focus for the live-service title.
Wet Work introduces a “contract-focused experience” that draws mechanics from Call of Duty: Ghosts, offering players a fresh gameplay loop. The new mode will be available across both traditional Battlefield 6 multiplayer and the Redsec free-to-play portion, expanding accessibility to the feature.
According to the developer, contracts will be generated through player eliminations, creating dynamic objectives during matches. This contract system represents the core mechanic of the Wet Work event, building on familiar Call of Duty gameplay patterns to reinvigorate the Battlefield experience.
The update comes as Season 3’s second phase, which launched last week, has dealt with a significant number of bugs and stability issues. The comprehensive patch accompanying Phase 3’s release is expected to address many of these problems alongside the new content additions.
As with each Battlefield 6 seasonal rollout, Season 3 has been structured across three distinct phases to stagger content delivery and maintain player engagement throughout the seasonal cycle. The High-Value Target phase represents the culmination of this season’s content roadmap.
