George Lucas Cast in Minions & Monsters After Revealing Massive Fandom
Star Wars creator George Lucas has been cast in a voice role for Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters,” an upcoming Despicable Me spin-off. The casting was confirmed by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri, who revealed that the character was specifically developed for Lucas during the film’s story development. According to Meledandri, the idea emerged organically from the script, leading filmmakers Pierre Coffin, Brian Lynch, and producer Bill Ryan to approach the legendary filmmaker about joining the project. Lucas has reportedly already discussed with Illumination the possibility of appearing in additional Minions films, suggesting a potential expanded partnership between the acclaimed director and the animation studio. The film is set to premiere within weeks.
