The timing coincides with the N64’s 30th anniversary celebrations, marking the console’s original June 1996 launch in Japan and September 1996 US debut. According to Mat Piscatella, Circana’s senior director and video game industry advisor, the sales data covers only physical cartridge sales for the N64 and excludes later ports or digital re-releases to other platforms. The curated list highlights the commercial performance of classic Nintendo titles during the console’s original lifecycle, providing insight into which games resonated most with American consumers during the N64 era.
