Ghost Recon Project OVR Scope Cut To Meet New Deadlines

Ubisoft’s next mainline Ghost Recon title, known internally as Project OVR, continues to face significant challenges in development. Following earlier reports detailing struggles with what staff described as “unrealistic deadlines and poor planning and management,” the publisher has taken action in recent months.

In the aftermath of an April memo addressing these issues, Ubisoft Paris has conducted what were characterized as “silent layoffs” at the studio. The restructuring comes as part of broader efforts to stabilize the troubled project.

To provide direct oversight of the game’s development, Ubisoft has deployed senior leadership to the project. VP of Production Jean-Baptiste Duval and VP of the Global Creative Office Julien Sansalone are now acting as overseers, reportedly increasing their presence during active development to help guide the project forward.
