Lords of the Fallen 2 Delayed to 2027
Lords of the Fallen 2 has been delayed from its originally planned fall 2026 release window to Q1 2027, according to an announcement by CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski.
The delay was attributed to development feedback and a desire to deliver the highest quality product at launch. Tyminski stated that the development team has been working closely with a “Gameplay Feedback Team,” comprising experienced Souls-like veterans within the studio. This team identified “meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience,” with the additional time allowing for “integration, iteration, and polishing.”
The game had been revealed at Summer Game Fest earlier in June to be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games this fall. However, the new timeline pushes the release into early 2027.
The delay also strategically positions the game away from an exceptionally crowded fall release schedule. November 2026 will see the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, one of the year’s most anticipated releases, forcing many publishers to shift their own games to earlier months in September and October. By moving to Q1 2027, Lords of the Fallen 2 avoids direct competition with major fall releases while providing the development team with additional polish time.
Industry observers note that while early 2027 is also shaping up to be a busy release period, Lords of the Fallen 2 appears to have sufficient anticipation to stand out in the marketplace. The original Lords of the Fallen received substantial post-launch updates and has been regarded positively by the Souls-like community.
