Neopets are back and coming to Fortnite
Epic Games announced that the iconic Neopets character Aisha is coming to Fortnite as a cosmetic next month. The virtual pet is expected to join the game as one of Fortnite’s Sidekicks—small companion cosmetics that players can equip alongside their main character skins.
The Sidekick cosmetic line has grown substantially since its introduction in November, with Epic Games adding dozens of options across various franchises and original characters. Current Sidekicks include animals such as dogs, cats, birds, and dragons, alongside licensed characters from major entertainment franchises including SpongeBob SquarePants, the Alien from Toy Story, Adventure Time’s Peppermint Butler, Rick & Morty’s Snowball, and The Simpsons’ Itchy.
The Aisha character brings Neopets—a browser-based virtual pet game that has maintained a dedicated player base since its launch in the late 1990s—into Fortnite’s growing roster of licensed cosmetics. The crossover carries particular appeal for Millennial players who grew up caring for and customizing virtual pets on Neopets’ platform.
Epic has not yet revealed specific details about how the Aisha Sidekick will be distributed or priced, though the company’s pattern with licensed Sidekicks suggests it will likely be available as a purchasable cosmetic through the game’s item shop. The announcement reflects Fortnite’s continued strategy of integrating popular entertainment properties and gaming nostalgia into its cosmetic offerings to maintain player engagement and drive monetization.
