Nintendo Switch Online is getting a price increase in Japan
Nintendo has announced a price increase for Nintendo Switch Online in Japan, effective July 1st. This marks the first price adjustment for the subscription service since its launch in March 2017.
Nintendo Switch Online is the company’s subscription service for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, providing access to online multiplayer, cloud saves, and voice chat features. The service also includes Nintendo Classics, offering on-demand access to retro games spanning multiple Nintendo platforms including NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Virtual Boy, and Mega Drive/Genesis libraries.
While Nintendo has confirmed the price increase for Japan, no other regions have announced similar adjustments at this time. The company has maintained stable pricing for the service across its nearly nine-year history, making this the first revision to its subscription pricing structure.
