Pokémon Winds and Waves Starter Creatures May Debut First in Pokémon Go, Fans Believe

Pokémon Go players hoping for an early introduction to the Generation 10 starter Pokémon face disappointment after community dataminers debunked speculation. The three new starters—Browt (a monobrowed Grass-type bird), Pombon (a flame-furred Fire-type dog), and Gecqua (a sneaky Water-type lizard)—were officially revealed in a recent Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves trailer and confirmed to debut in the mainline games arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Following the announcement, eagle-eyed Pokémon Go fans speculated that the starter trio might arrive in the mobile game before the 2027 release, pointing to data allegedly discovered in the game’s code. However, The Pokemod Group, a prominent Pokémon Go datamining source, posted an update discounting these claims, confirming there is no actual evidence of the Gen 10 starters in Pokémon Go’s current code.

While the creatures will inevitably join Pokémon Go at some point in the future, players will need to maintain their patience. The wait for Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua to appear in the mobile title will likely extend until or beyond the 2027 launch of Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves on Nintendo’s new hardware.
