God of War Laufey Could Release as Early as February 2027
According to gaming journalist Jason Schreier, Sony Santa Monica Studios’ next God of War title, subtitled Laufey, could launch as early as February 2027. Schreier shared the information in a recent YouTube video discussing the broader impact of Grand Theft Auto 6’s release on the gaming industry.
Schreier indicated he “wouldn’t be surprised if that [God of War Laufey] gets announced for February or March pretty soon,” suggesting that both an official announcement and release window reveal may arrive in the near term. The statement points to PlayStation and Santa Monica Studios potentially targeting an early 2027 launch for their next major franchise entry.
God of War Laufey will be the fifth mainline entry in the acclaimed series. The game’s development has been ongoing at Santa Monica Studios, with the project representing a significant blockbuster release for PlayStation in the coming year. The February-March timeframe would position the title as a major early-year release for the platform.
