The Mighty Nein season 2 first look shows off Fjord’s dark pact
Prime Video has revealed the first footage from season two of The Mighty Nein, Critical Role’s animated adaptation of the popular tabletop role-playing campaign. The announcement came during a panel at the Annecy Festival on June 24. The minute-long preview clip shows the party of adventurers engaged in combat to save the city of Nicodranas from a goblin raid. The sequence highlights the diverse abilities of the party members, including Jester—voiced by Laura Bailey—who is shown fighting with her lollipop weapon. The clip also touches on themes within Dungeons & Dragons culture, including a moment where a goblin declares “the only good goblin is a dead goblin,” a phrase that critiques the traditional “murder hobo” approach to adventuring where players prioritize combat over other solutions. The announcement of season two comes quickly after the conclusion of The Legend of Vox Machina, another Critical Role animated series, maintaining the company’s presence in the animated streaming space.
