Japanese Charts: Combined Console Sales Put The Adventures Of Elliot On Top
Square Enix’s new release “The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales” has debuted strongly in Japan’s latest game sales charts. According to Famitsu data, the title achieved combined sales of 38,517 units across PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, making it the top seller by total platform sales for the week.
However, when examining individual platform performance, “Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream” maintains the number-one position with 34,967 units sold. Despite not claiming the top spot on any single platform, Elliot’s ability to reach nearly 39,000 units through multi-platform distribution demonstrates strong commercial interest in the new release.
The data reflects significant trends in the Japanese gaming market: sustained Nintendo platform strength and early adoption of the Nintendo Switch 2, alongside continued PlayStation 5 support from major publishers like Square Enix. The split between these platforms illustrates how modern game releases can achieve commercial success by simultaneously reaching multiple console audiences in one of gaming’s most important markets.
