Hopes for GTA 6 Trailer 3 Evaporate as Preorders Go Live Without a New Video From Rockstar

Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto 6 preorders on June 25, 2026, but disappointed fans by declining to release a highly anticipated third trailer alongside the milestone. Instead, the publisher released 63 new screenshots showcasing the game’s detailed environments and gameplay elements. The move caught many by surprise, as industry observers had widely expected Trailer 3 to accompany the preorder launch to maximize marketing momentum.

The timing proved controversial since the previous trailer, released in May 2025, still carries an outdated release date on it—a version that is now over a month old. A fresh trailer featuring the correct November 19, 2026 release date would have aligned better with preorder availability. Instead, fans must make purchasing decisions based on screenshots alone.

Rockstar is offering both Standard and Ultimate editions. The Standard edition is available through Amazon, while the Ultimate edition remains exclusive to PlayStation and Xbox digital stores. This exclusivity strategy appears designed to drive platform-specific sales ahead of the November launch.

However, skepticism emerged around the released screenshots. Digital Foundry’s technical analysis suggested the images are “unlikely” to represent actual in-game graphics fidelity, noting the significant gap between marketing materials and real-time performance in games of this scope. Players continue speculating about platform-specific differences, particularly whether the PC version—expected later—will ultimately deliver superior visual quality compared to the console releases.
