Patapon-Inspired Rhythm Game Ratatan Is Delayed Until October
Ratatan, a rhythm-strategy game inspired by the classic Patapon series, has been delayed from its originally scheduled July 2026 release to October 15, 2026. The game, developed by Game Source Entertainment and Ratata Arts, was set to launch across multiple platforms but required additional development time to ensure stability and polish.
The developers cited ongoing work to address bugs and optimize the experience, with considerable feedback from the game’s Steam Early Access release informing their decision. While development appears substantially complete, the team prioritized stability and quality over meeting the original launch window.
The delay pushes Ratatan’s release into a crowded fall gaming season, particularly for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, where numerous major titles are scheduled. The extended development period should allow the studio to refine the game based on early player feedback and ensure a more polished launch experience.
