Red Dead Redemption 2’s PS5 Port May Have Been Delayed While Rockstar Focuses on GTA 6

Red Dead Redemption 2’s long-awaited native PlayStation 5 port may have been delayed as Rockstar Games prioritizes resources for Grand Theft Auto 6’s November 19th launch. With GTA 6 pre-orders now live worldwide and the company having confirmed the release date will not slip again, Rockstar appears to be concentrating development efforts on the flagship title, which industry analysts expect will become the fastest-selling game ever released.

Currently, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains accessible on PS5 only through backward compatibility, running the PS4 Pro version at 30 frames per second. A native PS5 port would enable enhanced performance and graphics, taking fuller advantage of the current-generation console’s capabilities. However, Rockstar has not officially announced plans for such a release.

The potential delay reflects GTA 6’s critical importance to Rockstar. Following previous delays that sent ripples through the entire gaming industry, the company has signaled its commitment to delivering the game on schedule this November. Whether Red Dead Redemption 2 receives an enhanced PS5 version remains uncertain, leaving fans of the acclaimed Western open-world game waiting for any official updates.
