Embark switches up Arc Raiders expeditions again, and this time it’s giving away paid currency and precious blueprints

Embark has announced yet another overhaul to Arc Raiders’ expedition system, marking the fourth major iteration of the feature. The studio continues to adjust what rewards motivate players to engage with expedition wipes, having previously offered permanent extra skill points as the primary incentive.

The new expedition format shifts away from skill point rewards entirely, replacing them with a combination of premium currency and blueprints. Each completed departure objective now guarantees players 150 Raider Tokens—the game’s premium currency—along with one blueprint that carries over through the seasonal wipe. This represents a significant pivot in Embark’s approach to incentivizing expedition participation.

The change appears to be driven by player feedback and engagement data. Embark has determined that players value blueprints far more than the competitive advantage provided by additional skill points. This realization led the studio to redesign the reward structure to better align with what players actually want from the expedition system.

The studio has characterized this update as a stopgap solution, suggesting that larger changes to the expedition system are planned for the future. This positions the current iteration as a transitional state while Embark continues to refine core expedition mechanics and incentive structures.
