Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen taps series veteran to direct new DLC
Capcom has announced that veteran game director Kento Kinoshita will helm the development of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, revealed during the June 25 Spotlight showcase. Kinoshita brings significant series experience, having previously directed the 2013 Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, an expanded remake of the original 2012 title that solidified the franchise’s cult following.
The upcoming Dark Arisen expansion to 2024’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 will deliver both quality-of-life improvements and substantial new content. Most significantly, players will gain access to Norgan, a new snowy region featuring its own narrative arc and previously unseen enemies. The expansion introduces the Relic Expedition system, a new crafting mechanic that enables players to forge weapons and armor with varied class-specific skills, deepening character customization options.
The announcement follows the initial reveal of Dark Arisen during June’s Nintendo Direct presentation, signaling Capcom’s continued commitment to expanding the Dragon’s Dogma universe with both quality content and franchise leadership continuity.
