Vampire: The Masquerade’s D&D crossover is a condescending cave-in to people who are afraid of trying something new

Vampire: The Masquerade is receiving an official Dungeons & Dragons supplement rulebook titled Bound by Blood. The supplement introduces a Kindred class featuring six distinct subclasses, a fourth-level adventure module, additional game systems designed to integrate vampire mechanics into D&D’s framework, and new character feats. This crossover emerges amid growing interest in vampire-themed tabletop content among RPG players. Baldur’s Gate 3’s vampire spawn character Astarion has become a popular fan favorite, driving renewed enthusiasm for vampire-focused gameplay. The Bound by Blood supplement aims to provide D&D players with comprehensive mechanical and narrative options for playing vampire characters in their campaigns, filling a gap in official vampire-centric D&D content. The release brings together Wizards of the Coast’s D&D system with the Vampire: The Masquerade intellectual property.
