Tetris Is Getting a CG-Animated TV Series
A new animated television series based on the classic puzzle game Tetris has been announced. Titled Tetris: World Builders, the CG-animated series was revealed at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The show is designed for children aged 6 and above, aiming to transform the iconic block-dropping gameplay into a narrative-driven adventure series.
According to the official announcement, Tetris: World Builders will blend imaginative storytelling with STEAM-inspired problem-solving. STEAM—an educational framework that incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics—guides the series’ approach to encouraging critical thinking among young viewers. The show represents a continuation of the current trend of video game intellectual property being adapted for television and film. The series is being produced by the same creative team behind the Sonic movie franchise, bringing established experience in translating gaming properties to animated formats.
