Not content with a Nightdive remaster, Thief’s also getting a graphic novel and an original soundtrack featuring Garrett’s voice actor
Thief fans are experiencing a surge of content as the classic stealth franchise receives multiple new projects across different media. Nightdive Studios announced Thief: The Dark Project Remastered at The PC Gaming Show, applying their well-regarded remastering expertise to Looking Glass’ legendary 1998 stealth title. Following closely behind is Thick as Thieves, a new stealth game developed by many of Thief’s original creators, which has proven surprisingly engaging despite reportedly being scaled down from its original PvPvE competitive design.
The franchise is further expanding beyond video games with an officially licensed graphic novel titled Thief: Pulse of Promise. This multi-media approach demonstrates renewed commercial and creative interest in the stealth genre that continues to influence game design decades after Thief’s original release. The combination of a faithful remaster from the acclaimed restoration studio Nightdive, a spiritual successor developed by original creators, and new narrative content in graphic novel form signals sustained confidence in reviving and expanding classic franchises.
