CD Projekt is rebranding as CD Projekt Red, but confusingly, CD Projekt Red is still CD Projekt Red
CD Projekt has officially rebranded its parent holding company to consolidate under the CD Projekt Red identity following a shareholder vote. Previously, the structure separated the broader CD Projekt corporation—which oversaw multiple subsidiaries including the GOG digital distribution platform—from CD Projekt Red, which specifically referred to the game development division comprising five studios.
The rebrand simplifies the company’s brand architecture by unifying both the parent company and development studios under a single CD Projekt Red name. This primarily represents a structural and branding consolidation rather than an operational overhaul. The move clarifies corporate messaging and organizational identity following the company’s high-profile navigation of Cyberpunk 2077’s controversial launch and subsequent development updates.
The change comes after GOG was sold to co-founder Michał Kiciński, potentially streamlining the portfolio structure. According to the announcement, the rebrand is unlikely to materially impact the company’s day-to-day operations or product offerings.
