Nintendo is increasing the price of Switch 2 in South Korea
Nintendo is raising the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 console in South Korea by approximately 15 percent, effective September 1, 2026. The console’s suggested retail price will increase from 648,000 won ($420) to 758,000 won ($491).
In a statement to investors, Nintendo attributed the adjustment to “changes in various market conditions” and apologized for any inconvenience caused to customers and stakeholders. The price hike follows Nintendo’s recent acknowledgment of rising oil prices and surging component costs affecting the gaming hardware industry.
This marks one of the first regional price adjustments for the Switch 2 since its launch. The increase reflects broader industry pressures as manufacturers navigate inflationary costs in manufacturing and distribution. South Korea represents an important market for Nintendo’s hardware sales, and the adjustment brings local pricing more in line with global economic realities affecting console makers.
