Forgotten Odysseys is a deadly TTRPG inspired by The Odyssey and Final Destination

Adam Bradford, founder of D&D Beyond and designer of Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying, has announced Forgotten Odysseys, a new tabletop role-playing game inspired by Greek mythology and the horror film Final Destination. Bradford’s creative spark came from viewing Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey trailer in 2025.

Forgotten Odysseys is built on the lethal Mörk Borg system, celebrated for its stylish presentation and pervasive sense of danger. Players assume roles as survivors of the Trojan War attempting to return home, directly drawing from Homer’s Odyssey. The game emphasizes high-stakes gameplay where characters face constant peril from monsters and other threats, mirroring Odysseus’s deadly journey where his crew met terrible fates.

In describing why Mörk Borg was the ideal system, Bradford told Polygon: “It just oozes a vibe of deadliness, and it feels like there is danger around every corner, and that things could go very, very bad.” This tonal fit makes the system a natural match for a Greek myth-inspired game where tragedy and loss are central themes.

Bradford launched a Kickstarter campaign for the project running through July 23, seeking funding to bring the game to production. The campaign represents his latest venture in tabletop RPG design, building on his extensive experience in the space.
